GROUP LEADER
About The Position
Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Group Leader position at Miami Youth Academy in Miami, Florida. Miami Youth Academy is a moderate-risk residential commitment program for male youth aged 14 to 18. This program provides youth with comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based substance abuse services. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while in the program. After 41 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. As a Group Leader, you will have the unique opportunity to create a positive, safe, and supportive environment for the youth we serve while building a career rich in growth opportunities and self-fulfillment.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED is required
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug, physical, and TB test
- Be able to pass a search of the child and adult abuse central registry
Nice To Haves
- An Associate's Degree is preferred
Responsibilities
- The Group Leader is operationally responsible, through the work performed by Senior Coach Counselors, Coach Counselors, and Night Coach Counselors, for the safety, care, and around-the-clock supervision of youth in the program during a scheduled shift.
- The Group Leader exercises his/her authority on a daily basis through direction and supervision of both students and staff during a shift, in order to meet expectations of the services provided.
