About The Position

Rivian is seeking a Group Leader for its R2 Battery operations. This on-site role in Normal, Illinois, leads and motivates a production team, supports team members and team leaders throughout each shift, and drives best practices to meet production milestones. The Group Leader reports to the Battery Operations Manager and works to achieve operational excellence through effective production planning, employee development, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment with leadership experience, or a combination of experience and education.
• Experience with Kaizen or continuous improvement processes.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Working knowledge of Google programs, including Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hours per day.
• Ability to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform duties in an environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, and hot or cold weather.
• Internal candidates must submit an updated resume highlighting relevant skills, experience, and accomplishments.

Nice To Haves

• Engineering or technical bachelor's degree.
• Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) software such as SAP.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Technicians, Team Leaders, and Team Members.
• Train, develop, teach, and evaluate employees.
• Maintain a high-quality relationship with production managers regarding schedules and required support.
• Perform and teach all processes and assignments within the department, and fill in as needed.
• Support and participate in pilot programs and change activities.
• Monitor and control capital and expense spending.
• Determine team member activity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Plan and establish the battery team agenda and ensure performance scheduling.
• Work with the Battery Operations Manager to identify and implement process, equipment, and functional improvements to achieve operational excellence.
