About The Position
The YMCA at Sterling is hiring dedicated and enthusiastic Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program. This is a meaningful opportunity to positively impact children’s lives in a supportive and collaborative afterschool environment.
Requirements
- Experience working with elementary-middle aged children in a school or childcare setting
- High school diploma or GED required
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Nice To Haves
- Relevant coursework or degree preferred
- Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage school-age children in recreational, academic, and enrichment activities
- Create a safe and stimulating environment for all participants
- Plan and implement daily lessons and activities that support social-emotional and academic growth
- Provide guidance and positive behavior support
- Maintain communication with families and program staff
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
