About The Position

The Group Leader position is responsible and accountable for assisting the Plant Manager in achieving production requirements for work groups or product line work cells by focusing on service, quality, and agility through scheduling and coordinating work flow, supporting employee training, providing employee guidance and motivation, following through of delegated work, and providing input on employee performance and other duties as assigned. This position is located at 510 S. McDonough Rd, Griffin, GA. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Working knowledge of all manufacturing processes, equipment, parts and components in his/her area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of company’s policies, rules and regulations applying to his/her area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of all health and safety, quality and labor standards applying to his/her area of responsibility
  • Leadership skills, facilitation skills, problem solving skills, management skills and planning skills
  • Understanding of principles of Lean Manufacturing
  • Focus on safe work practices and high quality while executing duties with a sense of urgency.
  • Work efficiently self-directed or in a team environment.
  • Ability to safely lift to 40 pounds.
  • Work cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Flexible work hours

Responsibilities

  • Administrative: policies, attendance, corrective actions
  • Manpower and vacation planning
  • People development, cross-training and team morale
  • Group safety performance
  • Coordinate work with other departments – Overtime.
  • Help cover TL absence.
  • Coordinate support from outside groups.
  • Continuous Improvement Activities – Quality Circles
  • Report and track daily production results.
  • Shift coordination.
  • Monthly production planning
  • Operating budget and cost control
  • Cost reduction activities and process improvement projects: productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc.
  • Coordinate major maintenance activities.
  • Confirm routine quality and TL checks.
