About The Position
Assists the Food Service Supervisor and/or Manager with oversight of the daily operations of patient and non-patient services, including daily operational activities of the department, assuring that all quality and standards are met. This position is located in St. Petersburg, FL at Bayfront Hospital.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Three (3) years previous food service experience
Responsibilities
- Schedules and trains staff
- Reports cash transactions
- Prepares cash deposits
- Compiles patient menus and special needs
- Setup and checking of patient tray line
- Opening and closing of the department
- Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Directs catering and doctor’s lounge service
- Communicates proper information regarding any patient or non-patient needs to peers, staff and Food Service Supervisor or Manager
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
- Participates in monthly department QA/QI and all related in-services
- Aids Food Service Supervisor or Manager in development of in-services to improve quality in designated areas
- Ensures that proper portion controls, tray delivery standards, café service standards are followed by staff
- Aware of Food Borne Illness prevention and sanitation requirements and assures compliance within department
- Follows all universal precautions as they apply to food services
