BASIC FUNCTION: The Group Leader, Electrical Services is responsible for the overall effectiveness of the Electrical Services Group through the management of its human, financial, and operational resources. The Group is responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant operation, maintenance, and engineering support of TRIUMF's electrical infrastructure and site fire alarm systems. As a discipline Group Leader, the incumbent ensures that all engineering work performed by the Group complies with applicable legislation, codes, standards, TRIUMF policies and procedures, including TRIUMF’s Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP). The position establishes operational plans with measurable contributions toward departmental objectives, typically with a one-year or longer time frame and is accountable for achieving results that impact the department and broader organization. This is a management position, the incumbent will be responsible for leading, directing, and reviewing the work of a team consisting primarily of emerging to expert-level engineers, technologists, and electricians. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical expertise to ensure the successful delivery of operational, maintenance, and engineering objectives. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: The position reports to the Head of Engineering Services. The incumbent will work closely with Engineering Services groups, the Project Management Office, Accelerator Operations, Facilities, Safety, and other departments to ensure the successful delivery of engineering services and operational support. Key relationships include: Direct leadership and coordination of the Electrical Services Group. Collaboration with project managers and project teams to support capital projects and infrastructure upgrades. Liaison with internal stakeholders regarding electrical engineering policies, standards, practices, and procedures. Coordination with utility providers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities, as required.
