About The Position

American Building Supply (ABS), a subsidiary of Jeld Wen, and one of the Nation’s largest wholesale suppliers of Doors, Door Hardware, Windows, and Millwork, currently has a position available for Group Lead - Day Shift to assist our company in providing value-added goods and services to our customers. JELD-WEN is one of the world’s largest door and window manufacturers, with more than 22,000 employees operating in 24 countries globally. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, JELD-WEN designs, produces and distributes an extensive range of interior and exterior doors, wood, vinyl and aluminum windows.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift
• Coordinates work activities with management
• Participate in Continuous Improvement processes, such as SQDCI Board & Gemba Walks
• Read and interpret production schedule
• Ensure security of facilities during designated shift hours
• Ensure all safety, manufacturing, and quality procedures are followed
• Enable effective communications between management and operators
• Train new employees and coach existing employees
• Investigate and report all incidents
• Check shipping documents for correct customer information
• Perform start of shift preventative maintenance inspection
• Assist in inventory cycle counts as needed
• Material preparation and material handling
• Other general warehouse duties as needed
