About The Position

The Group Lead assists in organizing and directing warehouse or production workers in an assigned area to provide exceptional customer service to all Stock Yards customers through on-time trucks and overall organization of production flow. This role also ensures compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and quality programs within the assigned area of responsibility and assists in other departments as directed by managers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Certified to operate forklift and other warehouse operations power equipment as defined by OSHA rules and regulations.
  • Basic English reading, writing and math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of production and operations.
  • Ensure that all work is performed with a consistent sense of urgency to meet customer requirements and in compliance with defined quality system in the assigned area.
  • Monitor the production and warehouse workforce to ensure work direction as required and to maximize production.
  • Provide training support (as directed by the production or warehouse supervisor) to all production staff.
  • Seek better operating methods to increase productivity and lower operating costs.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly cut shop and practice all safety procedures.
  • Portray the company in a good image at all times.
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate level of understanding of production or warehouse operations.
  • Work in harmony with fellow Associates and visitors to achieve an optimum level of production on a consistent basis.
  • Complete work forms and miscellaneous paperwork accurately and properly that is related to the movement of product and job standards, including signing all documents.
  • Ensure that work area is kept clean, organized and safe.
  • Participate in periodic staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in and satisfactorily complete all training and development programs as required of the position.
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks within the scope of assigned Essential Responsibilities as may be required from time-to-time by management representatives.
