About The Position

The Group Lead will assist in coordinating production activity in assigned work areas to ensure product is continuously processed in accordance with build schedules. This role involves coordinating communication of work instructions, ensuring quality and production goals are met, and performing regular process and quality performance audits. The Group Lead will also advise on equipment failure, accumulate production data, and provide direct training and feedback to operators. Additionally, this position supports expediting priority product, determining disposition of rejected components, and performing direct manufacturing operations. The role includes coordinating purchase requests, resolving problems, conducting daily meetings for communication and continuous improvement, ensuring maintenance and calibration are up-to-date, conducting 5S audits, and assisting with employee needs. The Group Lead will also support organizational initiatives related to Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS), comply with regulatory requirements, and maintain positive communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Knowledge of Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Familiarity with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to remain current on developments in field of expertise and industry trends.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating production activity in assigned work areas to ensure product is continuously processed in accordance with build schedules.
  • Coordinate communication of work instructions to personnel in designated areas in accordance with supervisory objectives.
  • Ensure that quality and production goals are met.
  • Perform regular process and quality performance audits of personnel, tooling and equipment in assigned areas.
  • Advise supervisor or other appropriate contacts in the event of equipment failure.
  • Accumulate information for assigned areas regarding work in process inventory status and daily output quantities.
  • Assist in providing direct training to area operators as required.
  • Provide feedback on defects encountered and provide re-training support as necessary.
  • Provide assistance in expediting priority product and tasks in assigned areas.
  • Perform inspection and determine disposition of rejected components per required documentation.
  • Perform direct manufacturing operations in support of build schedules as directed.
  • Coordinate purchase requests for equipment and services.
  • Resolve or facilitate resolution of problems including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Conduct daily meetings with manufacturing operators for better communication and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and calibration stickers are up to date.
  • Conduct 5S audits and weekly meetings with other area value stream group-leads.
  • Assist with employee needs including training and self-service requirements.
  • Support all organization initiatives in support of Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements, policies, operating procedures, and processes.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, contractors, and vendors.
