About The Position

The Group Lead supports the Supervisor in leading daily packaging operations by coordinating team activities, driving safety, quality and productivity, and ensuring compliance with cGMPs, SOPs, and company policies. This role trains and develops team members, monitors production performance through Redzone and operational metrics, and helps ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of year (4) year of experience in a production or related field.
  • Knowledge/experience with Lean Six Sigma and 5S principles.
  • Experience with cGMP guidelines (food & beverage, medical device, pharmaceutical industries)
  • Possesses a genuine desire to work in Packaging and truly likes working within all aspects of the packaging process.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs., climb step-up ladders, and perform constant motions of scooping, wiping, raising of arms, bending, and kneeling, if needed
  • Ability to be exposed to nutraceutical raw materials and powders which may include allergen related items
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • High School education (HS Diploma or GED) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Supervisor in leading daily production operations while promoting safety, quality, teamwork, and effective communication.
  • Train, cross-train, and mentor team members to support productivity, flexibility, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all cGMP requirements, SOPs, quality standards, safety policies, and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate production activities, troubleshoot routine operational issues, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
  • Review and maintain production documentation, batch records, work orders, and operational metrics, including JDE, OEE and Redzone reporting.
  • Operate, set up, tear down, clean and sanitize production equipment in accordance with training and established procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring each product is prepared, filled, assembled, packed, and documented according to work instructions/SOP's, batch records and cGMP guidelines and/or procedures.
  • Support equipment changeovers, basic mechanical adjustments, and sanitation activities to ensure operational readiness.
  • Perform manual aspects of the operation process, including but not limited to making boxes, loading machines, hand packing product, visual and physical checks of in process and finished materials as trained and instructed by supervisor, in compliance with all safety and cGMP procedures
  • Ensure products are packaged and documented in accordance with approved specifications and work instructions.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and inspection ready work areas through 5S and sanitation programs.
