About The Position

The team lead- Press is responsible for all daily lead duties for the press team. This includes assigning work, monitoring progress, enforcing PPE and safety, directing and redirecting employees, and serving as a backup for the supervisor in the event of their absence. The team lead will also be able to back up the process technician as needed. This role is for the 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 2:00pm to 10:30pm with Overtime as needed (during the week and weekends).

Requirements

  • Understanding of the Press processes and procedures.
  • Ability to run the press.
  • Ability to troubleshoot at least minor press issues.
  • Strong ethical and moral standards.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be able to lead a team.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Must have completed at least 90 days of employment.
  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required.
  • (Internal Candidates) Must be in good standing (no more than 1 active disciplinary write-up and no more than 1 attendance point).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous SAP experience or the ability to learn SAP.
  • Previous Office 365 experience or the ability to learn the basics of email (outlook), teams, word and excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assigning work, monitoring progress, enforcing PPE and safety, directing and redirecting employees.
  • Serving as a backup for the supervisor in the event of their absence.
  • Backing up the process technician as needed.
  • Training new associates on processes and procedures.
  • Leading the production line to ensure product is produced according to schedule.
  • Providing work assignments, daily production paperwork, and monitoring progress of production staff.
  • Verifying production paperwork is completed and accurate.
  • Completing confirmations in SAP.
  • Viewing and understanding the planned schedule.
  • Printing Work Orders.
  • Completing and emailing pass down notes, end of shift reports and effectivity sheets.
  • Ensuring work areas are kept free of unnecessary objects, and housekeeping is acceptable.
  • Redirecting employees that are out of area or off task.
  • Replenishing consumables as needed.
  • Assisting supervisor with monitoring employees that are leaving for and/or returning from break early/late.
  • Providing honest, accurate and timely feedback to supervisor regarding employee performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Leading by example, following all policies and procedures and ensuring the team is following them.
  • Reporting to the supervisor as needed.
  • Holding the pre-shift/tier 1 meeting when needed.
  • Monitoring and addressing the quality of parts produced by casters, assisting them in resolving any issues, and retraining as needed.
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with other departments.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines and requirements and ensuring the team follows all safety guidelines and requirements.
  • Performing other job-related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
