About The Position

The Front Climbing Club is seeking a Group Fitness Instructor for its Salt Lake City gym. This role involves leading high-energy, welcoming classes that help members feel stronger and more connected. The position is part-time, with a pay rate of $30 per class taught and an additional $15 administrative rate. The ideal candidate enjoys working with music, focusing on proper form, and fostering a positive atmosphere.

Requirements

Group fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA) or CPT (plus Spin certification if teaching cycling).
Current CPR / First Aid certification.
At least five years of combined experience (work, college/university, or trade school), ideally including group fitness or instructional classes.
Knowledge of anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles.
Clear communication and natural motivation skills.
Reliability and punctuality.
Ability to arrange responsible subs when needed.
Ability to demonstrate exercises.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ability to stay on your feet for extended periods.
Skill in creating a friendly, welcoming customer experience focused on member needs.

Responsibilities

Lead engaging, effective 50-minute classes (warm-up to cooldown) for all fitness levels.
Arrive early to set up equipment, test music, and prepare the studio.
Greet members and build a supportive, inclusive community in each class.
Coach with clear cues, modifications, and progressions for safe and confident movement.
Curate high-energy playlists that motivate participants.
Manage check-ins via the RGPro calendar and monitor participation trends.
Maintain a clean and stocked studio space, reporting any damaged or missing equipment.
Assess injuries or limitations before class and adapt as needed.
Maintain a consistent schedule and teach a minimum of six classes per pay period.
Participate in community events like Front Fest.
