About The Position
We are looking for a certified group fitness instructor who loves what they do and also knows that a group exercise class can engage a member like nothing else! An instructor who understands that connecting with members in class can inspire and set members on a track to a healthier life!
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- YMCA Foundations of Group Exercise certification with experience or National certification
- Skills in Dance (Zumba, Line Dancing), Aqua Zumba / Aqua Instructor, Group Exercise Les Mills Ceremony, Les Mills Core, Yoga, Tai Chi, Etc.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills
- Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
Responsibilities
- Set an example of healthy living and personal fitness
- Prepare routines and/or choreography within YMCA standards
- Provide support and encouragement to members and reinforce healthy lifestyles
- Ensure the safety and well-being of members and staff. Notify supervisor of any safety hazards or concerns within the facility
- Provide excellent service to all members and notify supervisor of member needs, supplies or other items needed to ensure program quality and member satisfaction
- Ensure that safe movement and technique is utilized by every member in all classes
- Maintain knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and maintain records on any incidents
