The Group Facilitator assists the Clinical Team in delivering treatment services by facilitating educational groups, supporting client engagement, monitoring participation, and maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment. This position plays an important role in client recovery, behavioral health treatment, substance use recovery services, patient education, and therapeutic support while ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agency standards and documentation requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or a closely related field OR High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and a minimum of two (2) years of responsible employment experience
  • Employees in this position may be required to apply for the Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and facilitate groups in clinical, educational, or public settings
  • Strong verbal presentation, client engagement, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and present clinical subject matter in a clear and understandable manner
  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect screening, and fingerprinting requirements
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance required
  • Class E Driver's License may be required
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification may be required
  • Must promote positive morale through a supportive, respectful, and professional attitude toward clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and innovation in supporting positive client outcomes and operational effectiveness
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of client treatment
  • Must respect and maintain all certifications and/or licenses possessed upon hire and those obtained during employment
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of clients and staff and the ability to build positive, lasting professional relationships

  • Perform sedentary work, including exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects
  • Complete repetitive hand, finger, and arm movements associated with typing, writing, and documentation activities
  • Sit for extended periods during the workday while facilitating groups and completing documentation
  • Occasionally walk or stand for brief periods to support client services and program activities
  • Perform the essential functions of the position within a typical office or treatment setting consistent with sedentary work requirements

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate educational and psychoeducational groups for clients in an engaging, supportive, and culturally sensitive manner
  • Create a safe therapeutic environment that encourages learning, discussion, participation, and personal growth
  • Present approved educational materials using established formats and treatment guidelines
  • Evaluate client participation and communicate progress, concerns, and observations to members of the Clinical Team
  • Document group attendance, participation levels, group summaries, and client responses accurately and timely within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
  • Maintain compliance with agency policies, procedures, documentation standards, and treatment protocols
  • Monitor client wellbeing and promptly report situations that may pose a threat to the physical or psychological safety of clients or staff
  • Participate in required training, including adult education training identified by agency leadership
  • Support organizational goals through dependable attendance, teamwork, and additional assigned duties
