Center, we’re building something powerful—a supportive, purpose-driven community where individuals living with serious mental illness can grow, stabilize, and thrive. We’re looking for a high-energy, emotionally intelligent Group Facilitator who isn’t afraid to lead from the front and make a real difference every single day. This isn’t just a job—it’s frontline behavioral health work where your leadership, presence, and consistency truly matter. As a Group Facilitator, you’ll guide individuals through daily structured programming, helping them build the skills needed for independence, emotional regulation, and community success. You’ll lead groups, support daily routines, and serve as a role model of stability, professionalism, and compassion—even in challenging situations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or human services preferred
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain: CPR/First Aid Certification, Handle With Care (or equivalent crisis training), TB Screening, Criminal Background & Central Registry Clearance
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the following certifications and clearances: CPR/First Aid certification, Handle with Care (physical/verbal intervention) training., Annual Tuberculosis (TB) screening, Criminal background and central registry clearance
  • Strong and assertive personality with the ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in mental health, social services, or human services settings.
  • Familiarity with psychosocial rehabilitation principles, recovery-oriented care, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging psychosocial and psychoeducational groups daily
  • Teach coping skills, emotional regulation, and independent living skills
  • Maintain structure, participation, and positive group dynamics
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Independent Living Skills (IADLs)
  • Support hygiene, routines, and personal accountability
  • Model appropriate behavior, communication, and boundaries
  • Supervise community outings and appointments
  • Encourage healthy social interaction and independence
  • Transport members safely (upon approval)
  • De-escalate challenging or volatile behaviors with confidence
  • Respond professionally to emotional or behavioral outbursts
  • Follow all safety and crisis intervention protocols
