About The Position

Brightpoint is seeking a mission-driven Group Facilitator - Fatherhood Support to plan and lead weekly Parents Care & Share group meetings for Spanish-speaking fathers in Central Illinois. This role involves engaging in other relevant group work, such as outreach, arranging for food or snacks, and parent leadership development. The facilitator will build safe and trusting relationships with fathers, leveraging family strengths and providing referrals for additional supportive services as needed. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about parenting, experienced in client engagement and group facilitation, and passionate about helping families thrive.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Commitment to complete agency-sponsored group facilitator training within 60 days of hire required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish required
  • A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and access to a reliable vehicle may be required to execute the position’s responsibilities, depending on program assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a social services or human service field preferred
  • A minimum of two years of experience in facilitating groups preferred
  • Familiarity with local community resources preferred
  • Demonstrates knowledge of group dynamics preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and facilitates support groups for assigned program(s) in accordance with program model(s); groups may include parent education, emotional support, socialization/interaction of children and families, and/or other components.
  • May plan and facilitate other events and group activities, such as community resource events, family fun events, or group connection events as determined by program model and needs.
  • May attend other community outreach events to promote the program.
  • Trains and coaches group participants in group leadership skills.
  • Provides crisis intervention during group meetings.
  • Recruits parents/guardians for group services.
  • Provides referral information to group participants about community resources.
  • Acts as a liaison for group participants and community resources, as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison between various agency programs and staff, as assigned.
  • May pick up supplies and/or food for the group(s), as assigned.
  • Participates on agency and community committees and networks, as assigned.
  • Completes and submits required documentation and reports within required timeframes.
