About The Position

The Group Exercise Instructor—Les Mills safely leads members in Les Mills International programs, including one or more of BODYPUMP, LES MILLS CORE, RPM, BODYBALANCE, and BODYCOMBAT. Instructors learn current program releases, which are designed to enhance overall fitness, strength, and endurance. They also serve as an educational resource for members on fitness topics. Instructors prepare for classes by arriving 10 minutes before the scheduled start, welcoming and orienting participants, preparing the program’s music and choreography, and checking class and audio equipment. During class, they explain the format, assess first-time participants discreetly, give clear instructions, monitor and correct form, offer variations for different fitness levels, and create a motivational and enjoyable environment. After class, instructors restore the stereo and microphone, prepare the room for the next class, answer participant questions, and solicit feedback. They must keep classes on schedule, follow facility closing procedures when applicable, arrange qualified substitutes when unable to teach, attend required staff meetings, follow clock-in/out procedures, complete incident or witness reports as needed, and maintain a positive, professional attitude while promoting Gold’s Gym and GGX.
