About The Position
The Group Exercise Instructor helps teach group exercise classes for employees, patients, and members at Sagewell medical fitness centers in Greensboro and Eden, North Carolina. Under close supervision in routine situations, the instructor collaborates with participants to lead fitness classes and create a safe, inviting exercise environment. Classes support participants’ health and wellness needs regardless of current fitness level or medical condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A nationally accredited certification from a recognized organization or equivalent specialty certification, such as ACE, ACSM, AEA, WaterArt, IFTA, AFAA, or Yoga Alliance.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
Responsibilities
- Help lead safe and effective group exercise classes to improve participant health.
- Assist with educating participants on proper form, anatomy, and exercise modifications to promote safety and effectiveness.
- Ensure participant safety while using the facility’s fitness equipment.
- Adapt classes to varying fitness abilities so participants can benefit from the class.
- Maintain cleanliness of the group fitness studio.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
