About The Position

We are looking for a Group Director, Brand Strategy to help lead the next chapter of growth for one of our largest and most important client relationships. This is an opportunity for a strategic leader who thrives on solving complex business challenges, shaping breakthrough creative work, and building strong partnerships with clients and colleagues alike. As Group Director, Brand Strategy, you will lead the development of brand, communications, and consumer strategies that influence business decisions and inspire exceptional creative work. You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior clients, a mentor to strategists, and a collaborative partner to creative, account, media, analytics, and innovation teams. This role reports to the Head of Strategy, and will focus heavily on Samsung, helping shape the future of one of the world's most recognized brands across multiple audiences, channels, and experiences.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in brand strategy, account planning, or communications strategy within leading advertising, marketing, or consulting environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic work for large-scale consumer brands.
  • Proven success influencing senior client stakeholders and executive-level decision-makers.
  • Deep expertise in consumer research, audience insights, cultural intelligence, and strategic planning.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing ecosystems, including brand, digital, social, retail, experiential, and commerce channels.
  • Ability to connect data, consumer behavior, and business objectives to actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience mentoring and developing high-performing strategy teams.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Business, Journalism, Liberal Arts, or a related field preferred

  • Experience within technology, consumer electronics, telecommunications, or adjacent categories strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and champion brand, communications, and campaign strategies that connect business objectives to human insight.
  • Translate complex market, consumer, and cultural dynamics into clear strategic direction.
  • Develop strategic frameworks, positioning recommendations, audience segmentation models, and messaging architectures that guide business and creative decisions.
  • Ensure strategic rigor across the full lifecycle of work from discovery and research through execution, optimization, and measurement.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions that help clients identify opportunities, navigate ambiguity, and make informed decisions.
  • Deliver compelling presentations that build confidence, inspire action, and strengthen agency partnerships.
  • Develop thought leadership and POVs that position the agency as a strategic partner rather than a tactical vendor.
  • Partner closely with creative leadership to unlock breakthrough ideas grounded in human insight.
  • Develop inspiring briefs that spark innovative and effective creative solutions.
  • Champion work that balances cultural relevance, business impact, and creative ambition.
  • Help teams connect emerging consumer behaviors, technology trends, and cultural shifts to meaningful creative opportunities.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a growing team of strategists.
  • Foster an environment of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Recruit and cultivate diverse strategic talent that strengthens the agency's capabilities.
  • Raise the quality of strategic thinking and output across the organization.
  • Play a leadership role in new business opportunities, including RFP responses, pitch development, and presentations.
  • Contribute to agency thought leadership through articles, speaking opportunities, workshops, and client-facing initiatives.
  • Help evolve the strategy discipline, processes, and tools that support agency growth and effectiveness.
