About The Position

The Group Aquatic Instructor will demonstrate professionalism in dealing with LifeCenter members, guests, and staff. This role involves creating a fun and healthy learning environment, designing lesson plans tailored to group needs and goals, and motivating clients through encouragement and recognition of accomplishments. The instructor will provide skills and drills for independent practice and use interpersonal skills to foster an atmosphere of experimentation and learning. Continuous improvement of instructor skills is also a key aspect of the position.

Requirements

CPR/AED Certified (must be certified within the first 90 days of employment if not currently certified.)
Must be able to obtain current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification within first 90 days of employment.
A previous swimming background is essential
Prior experience in swim instruction is preferred.
Must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency in the front and back crawl and the breaststroke.
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Able to motivate and give direction
Friendly, helpful and have the ability to relate well with people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous swimming background is essential and prior experience in swim instruction is preferred.
