About The Position

Joshua Tree Experts in Collin County, Texas, is hiring an experienced Tree Care Groundsman to work alongside a two- to four-person tree crew. This hands-on, entry-to-early-career role supports tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, and wood chipper operations. The Groundsman communicates with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or working from aerial lift trucks, and helps ensure the crew functions safely and effectively each day. The role includes preparing equipment and vehicles, maintaining safe drop zones, operating tree-care equipment, handling logs and debris, servicing equipment, and setting up job-site safety and traffic controls. The position is full-time, year-round, and includes benefits.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in tree-care operations.
Valid driver's license.
At least 21 years of age.
Ability to work 40 or more hours each week.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
Excellent ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Assist the crew with daily equipment and vehicle preparation.
Ensure drop zones are safe for coworkers and the public.
Perform pruning and reducing.
Safely use tree-care equipment, including gas-powered saws, pole saws/clips, and chippers.
Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush, and debris.
Report to work on time each day.
Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers.
Maintain a professional image and provide friendly, excellent customer service.
Maintain and service equipment as needed.
Follow the company's safety culture and procedures.
Set up safety and traffic-control measures at job sites.
Communicate with crew members and the public while climbers are aloft in trees or aerial lift trucks.
