About The Position

At Moon Valley Nurseries, you will play a versatile role in supporting various aspects of nursery operations and customer service. Your responsibilities will include performing a range of tasks such as equipment maintenance, yard organization, and customer assistance. This position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the retail yard. The role involves performing manual labor to assist with nursery maintenance, storage, and customer order fulfillment. Tasks include transporting and mixing soil, fertilizer, and other soil conditioning materials using hand tools, as well as digging, raking, and sifting soil. Availability to work any day of the week is required, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Ability to perform manual labor.
Ability to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.
Regularly required to verbally exchange information with colleagues, managers and vendors.
Must frequently reach for, pull, lift, and/or move items weighing up to and over 75 lbs.
Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in possibly extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with operating power tools, hand tools, and other equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with organizing and maintaining the nursery yard to ensure a clean, orderly, and attractive appearance.
Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on nursery equipment, including vehicles, forklifts, and hand tools.
Assist with loading and unloading plants, trees, and other nursery products into a variety of vehicles.
Provide friendly and helpful customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing tasks in yard such as, proper lifting techniques, operating equipment, handling merchandise, and ensuring a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
Demonstrated availability to work any day of the week.
Transport and mix soil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other soil conditioning materials using hand tools.
Dig, rake, and sift soil to fill pots and boxes for planting.
