About The Position

Joshua Tree Experts is seeking an experienced Groundsman & Plant Health Care Technician for its North Dallas operations. The role works alongside a 2- to 4-person tree crew, supporting tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, and wood chipper operations. It also assists with Plant Health Care (PHC) services, offering experience in a growing area of the business.

The technician helps maintain safe drop zones for coworkers and the public while climbers work in trees or aerial lifts, and supports job-site safety, equipment preparation and maintenance, and customer service. PHC work may include tree and shrub spray applications, soil injections, and soil fertilization. This is a full-time, year-round position requiring the ability to work 40 hours or more per week.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work 40 hours or more each week.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Excellent ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Prior Plant Health Care experience, including spraying or soil injection.
• Active state-issued Pesticide Applicators license; it is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the crew with daily equipment and vehicle preparation.
• Keep drop zones safe for coworkers and the public.
• Perform pruning and reducing alongside the Tree Care Crew.
• Safely operate tree-care equipment, including gas-powered saws, pole saws or clips, and chippers.
• Load and unload trucks and chippers with logs, brush, and debris.
• Follow directions from crew leaders and climbers, and maintain or service equipment as needed.
• Assist with Plant Health Care services, which may include tree and shrub spray applications, soil injections, and soil fertilization.
• Provide friendly, excellent customer service.
• Follow safety culture and procedures, including setting up job-site safety and traffic-control measures.
• Report to work on time each day and maintain a professional image.
