About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds of Miller House. The role involves both hands-on landscape maintenance and the coordination of external contractors and seasonal employees. The Groundskeeper will ensure the property is well-maintained and presentable throughout the year.

Requirements

• Ability to implement a landscape maintenance plan
• Ability to lead landscape-based projects
• Ability to work individually as well as manage the work of other employees and outside contractors
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions
• Ability to make basic calculations related to chemical applications and ordering supplies and materials
• Ability to use landscape and garden related maintenance equipment and tools, including power-driven tools
• Computer knowledge in Microsoft software
• Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

• Prior landscape maintenance experience preferred
• Associates degree or higher in horticulture or related field
• 2 years+ experience with turf and landscape maintenance

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and assisting landscape contractors
• Ordering of supplies and plant material
• Assist seasonal employees
• Turf maintenance including mowing, edging, clean-up, and removal of debris
• Planting, weeding, mulching, watering, trimming, and pruning; snow removal
• Application of fertilizers and pesticides as appropriate
• Operation and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, and implements (some motorized) used to accomplish the tasks associated with the position
• Participate in emergency clean-up as needed due to severe weather
• Maintaining Barn work area in a clean and organized manner
