About The Position

The Groundskeeper position at Bishop John J. Snyder High School is a full-time, non-exempt role responsible for performing routine service and maintenance on heavy machinery and equipment. This role also involves organizing and maintaining maintenance shop supplies and equipment, inspecting and repairing irrigation systems, and assisting with perimeter and athletic field maintenance to ensure optimal playing conditions. The groundskeeper must adhere strictly to health and safety rules and be physically capable of handling machines and heavy items. Other duties may be assigned by the Vice Principal.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a groundskeeper
• Must be able to read, interpret, and follow written instructions
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
• Prioritization and time management skills
• Work quickly without compromising quality
• Friendly, reliable and present a neat personal appearance
• Willingness to learn new methods and how to use various pieces of equipment
• High School diploma or equivalent desired
• Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check and take a Protecting God's Children class before beginning employment

Responsibilities

• Performs routine service and maintenance on heavy machinery and equipment
• Organizes and maintains maintenance shop supplies and equipment by implementing and sustaining the lean process to eliminate wasteful practices and improve efficiency
• Inspects, adjusts, and repairs irrigation systems to ensure they perform at maximum efficiency and conserve water
• Assist & supports perimeter and athletic field maintenance ensuring athletic fields stay in optimal playing conditions
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of all company-related practices
• Physically be able to handle machines and other heavy items
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice Principal
