Groundskeeper - The Province
About The Position
The Groundskeeper maintains buildings and grounds, including common areas and amenities, at an ACC student housing community to enhance and maintain the property’s curb appeal. The role supports the cleanliness and upkeep of interior and exterior areas. Training is provided, and opportunities may be available to gain certifications, support nearby properties, and grow through on-the-job training. The role also supports the service team with apartment make-ready and turnover work, work orders, pool maintenance when applicable, and general upkeep of shops and storage areas. The Groundskeeper is expected to follow safety protocols, represent American Campus Communities in interactions, and contribute to a clean, well-presented community.
Requirements
- Ability to drive a golf cart.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of general labor, housekeeping, and cleaning tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, including understanding and following MSDS rules for handling and using chemicals.
- Ability to understand and carry out written or verbal multi-step instructions.
- Reliable and detail-oriented, and able to work safely.
Nice To Haves
- Prior facilities maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience in or willingness to learn general labor and apartment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Clean the interior and exterior of the property to standard.
- Maintain property grounds, including collecting trash.
- Vacuum, mop, and/or shampoo floors in resident rooms and common areas, and stock bathrooms.
- Assist the service team with work orders, moving furniture, and unloading and storing supplies.
- Support apartment make-ready duties, including trash outs, cleaning, and painting.
- Assist in the property turnover process.
- Support pool maintenance, if applicable, and pressure washing.
- Safely operate facility equipment while following safety protocols and best practices.
- Help keep shops, storage areas, and back-of-house environments clean and orderly, with tools and supplies organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Serve as an American Campus representative and liaison in all interactions.
- Comply with the Photo, Video and Voice Recording Policy; activities may be recorded for quality control or training.
