About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds of the facility, including lawns, trees, and landscaping. Duties include litter removal, snow and ice management, and basic repairs to groundskeeping equipment and outdoor furniture. The role also involves operating groundskeeping equipment safely, adhering to safety policies, and assisting other departments as needed. Compliance with company policies, gaming regulations, and safety procedures is essential. The position requires effective communication, teamwork, and a professional demeanor.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to operate basic lawn maintenance equipment.
Must be able to obtain a gaming license in accordance to the regulations established by the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission.
Must be able to meet deadlines and work independently with limited supervision.
Must be able to follow all Environment, Public Health, and Safety (EPHS) requirements.
Must have strong computer skills.
Must be able to handle busy and stressful situations.
Must possess poise and tact.
Must be flexible with working hours and days off.
Must have good organizational and communication skills.
Must have knowledge of blueprints and schematics with attention to details.
Must be able to meet all non-supervisory training and education requirements.
Must be confidential.

Previous Grounds keeping experience
A valid Iowa Driver License is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains lawns, trees, bushes, and other landscaping throughout the facility.
Keeps outdoor facility, including pedestrian and vehicle traffic areas, clean of trash & debris, while keeping trash liners changed.
Maintains outdoor furniture and traffic paint.
Operates grounds keeping equipment, vehicles, and machinery in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and established safety policies and procedures.
Removes snow & ice during winter months.
Spreads salt & ice melt as needed.
Uses and maintains tools & equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations & industry standards.
Reviews, verifies, & follows all applicable codes & regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and industry standards regarding equipment, systems, and work practices.
Assists and coordinates with a variety of skilled trade personnel to complete job assignments.
Submits progress reports, job reports, and completed work orders issued by Department Management in a timely manner.
Communicates and networks effectively with staff, other departments, and outside representatives in order to maintain a productive and effective department operation.
Safeguards and accounts for the assets of the owners.
Complies with policies and procedures required by the department, the company, the Sac & Fox Gaming Commission, and the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Monitors the casino environment and follows established safety procedures to provide for the safety of guests and co-workers.
Works respectfully and effectively as part of the company team to ensure guest satisfaction, asset protection, and co-worker respect.
Reports to work on time and as required in professional attire, displays a high level of personal cleanliness and follows personal appearance standards.
Provides outdoor maintenance service to other departments as requested via radio dispatch and work order requests.
Keeps time, material for assigned work orders, submits to supervisor upon completion.
Notifies Supervisor of any discrepancies while performing procedures on machinery and/or equipment that may require service from an outside vendor.
Submits Daily Report (work log) to supervisor at end of shift.
Attends all required meetings and training sessions.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
