About The Position
The Groundskeeper BG-02 position is a career opportunity at Tyson Foods, Incorporated. This position requires adequate knowledge in multiple skill sets including horticulture, turf care, and lawn and garden tool usage and maintenance. Equipment you will be expected to operate include mowers, tractors, snow blowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, edgers, blowers, drills, and various hand tools. You will also be required to drive vehicles to or at work sites. Employee will help team maintain equipment and must be willing to assist team with special projects related to facilities maintenance and enhancement. Employee will be expected to help with snow removal and other job duties as assigned. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to hot and cold outside weather conditions, and to noisy equipment. Quality, safety, and efficiency are our top priorities, and employee will be expected to demonstrate these characteristics in how they work.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year experience in groundskeeping, lawn maintenance, or landscaping field.
- Understand troubleshooting and operation of lawn and garden equipment.
- Understand basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting techniques.
- Understand basic horticulture and landscaping practices.
- Must be able to display sound judgment, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- Small engine repair knowledge is helpful.
- Computer Skills: Not necessary but helpful.
- Communication Skills: High level oral communication and problem-solving skills are helpful.
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with other team members, all levels of management, as well as executive leadership.
