About The Position

The Groundskeeper position is a 12-month role within the Facilities Department. The primary responsibility is to safely maintain and enhance the beauty of the District's grounds, as well as maintain grounds maintenance equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Requires completion of Asbestos Awareness Program, upon hire

Nice To Haves

2-5 years of job-related experience preferred
Commercial Driver’s License preferred

Responsibilities

Safely maintains and ensures the beauty of the grounds including cutting grass, controlling weeds, trimming landscaping and caring for plants, trees and shrubs.
Hauls dirt, sand, gravel and mulch.
Operates, repairs and maintains grounds maintenance equipment and ensures its safety.
Moves heavy objects and equipment.
Installs, replaces and repairs fences.
Repairs and installs asphalt and concrete as needed.
Prepares athletic fields for sporting events.
Removes snow and ice from parking areas and entrances before, during and after school hours.
Serves as a substitute custodian as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
