About The Position

The Greensboro Science Center is seeking an energetic, motivated, and hard-working team member for part-time hire for a new grounds care position. Primary duties include daily morning campus maintenance prior to visitors, substrate management, mulching, equipment servicing & repair, debris and compost management, downed tree clearing, storm wash & erosion control measures, foundational landscape care, invasive plant management, campus safety & perimeter checks, and grounds-related structural campus developments or repairs. Winter season includes snow/ice management as needed. Position reports to and works with the Horticulture Curation and Lead members. Applicants must be available to work mornings. Most days start at 7am and end at 1pm. Five-day work week that may include weekends. A flexible seasonal timeframe may shift with Events, Daylight Hours, or Inclement Weather. Must be able to work in various outdoor weather conditions. Perform safe operations of utility vehicles and power equipment, such as: Leaf Blower, String Trimmer, Tractor, Skid Steer etc. Will be trained and certified in the safe use of any Power Equipment. Requirements

• Must be available to work mornings
• Must be able to work in various outdoor weather conditions
• Must be able to lift 50 lb bags
• Be reliable, dependable, a multitasker, proactive, and flexible
• Work well independently and as a team
• Valid North Carolina drivers license

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with select equipment, utility vehicles, and grounds care preferred
• Related work experience in grounds care work is desired
