About The Position

The Groundskeeper represents Mystic Aquarium with a positive, can-do attitude and a teamwork-focused work ethic at all times. This role performs tasks and operates equipment associated with the establishment and maintenance of the facility's grounds, including weeding, mulching, fertilizing, and trimming Aquarium plantings, and ensures that all areas are kept clean, neat, safe, and litter-free.

Requirements

Must be physically able to execute the work of the position, including the handling and operation of tools and machinery associated with grounds maintenance, and standing for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Experience with grounds maintenance and associated equipment is desired.
Multilingual preferred; Spanish speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate grounds care machinery, including mowers, weed trimmers, and blowers.
Assist with the maintenance of all grounds plantings, including weeding, mulching, watering, fertilizing, trimming, and mowing.
Assist with general maintenance tasks throughout the facility as needed.
Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
Help maintain a safe and litter-free facility.
Interact with guests and staff in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Work in a safe manner at all times, properly using and maintaining all personal protective equipment (PPE) supplied for protection from recognized hazards.
Report any unsafe conditions promptly.
Maintain a working knowledge of facility-wide and department-specific safety procedures, including emergency evacuation, lockdown procedures, and fire extinguisher use.
Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
