About The Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for the care and maintenance of the organization's grounds. Duties include outdoor property maintenance, snow removal, equipment work, basic tree trimming, and other landscaping and groundskeeping tasks. The role may also assist with indoor maintenance and construction, sprinkler-system maintenance and repairs, parking-lot repairs, grounds assessments, minor electrical work, and general equipment maintenance. Depending on location, the position may include seasonal employee shuttle driving.

Requirements

• Six months of experience working with lawn-care equipment is preferred.
• May require an applicable State Commercial Applicators License and/or certification.
• Depending on location, a current valid driver's license may be required, along with meeting Sanford Health Category III driver medical guidelines.
• Depending on location, a Class A Commercial Driver's License and full compliance with DOT regulations are required within six months of hire.
• Ability to operate equipment for basic dirt work and snow removal, such as bobcats, trucks with snow-removal equipment, and power brooms.
• Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools and light- and heavy-duty machinery is helpful.
• Knowledge of mechanics and working knowledge of plumbing, painting, electronics, masonry, carpentry, welding, and landscape technology.

Nice To Haves

• Trade school or vocational school coursework in landscaping, horticulture, forestry, or park management.
• Experience in parking-ramp maintenance, lawn maintenance, and general maintenance.
• Six months of experience working with lawn-care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing, tree trimming, snow removal, fertilizing, planting, and cleaning.
• Perform general grounds and property maintenance.
• Operate equipment for basic dirt work and snow removal.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of sprinkler systems.
• Assist with parking-lot repairs, including cold patching and asphalt repairs.
• Assist with grounds assessments.
• Assist with minor electrical work and general maintenance of various equipment.
• Work at heights using equipment such as lifts and ladders.
• Adapt to indoor building maintenance duties when needed.
• Depending on location, perform seasonal shuttle driving for employees.
