The Groundskeeper/Porter at Independence In West Sacramento helps maintain the community’s cleanliness and safety and creates a welcoming environment for residents and guests. The role includes outdoor groundskeeping and custodial work, customer service, and support for the maintenance team. Previous groundskeeping or janitorial experience is preferred but not required. The position offers access to maintenance training and opportunities to advance into roles such as Maintenance Technician or Night Service Manager.

Requirements

Be reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
Be able to work outdoors and perform physical labor in all weather conditions.
Be available to work weekends; scheduled days off are Sunday and Monday.
Pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Previous groundskeeping or janitorial experience.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Maintain community grounds, including walkways, parking lots, and common areas.
Perform custodial duties, including sweeping, blowing, pressure washing, and trash removal.
Clean outdoor furniture, fixtures, and assigned maintenance areas.
Report safety concerns or maintenance needs to appropriate team members.
Provide courteous, helpful customer service to residents and guests.
Support the maintenance team with additional tasks as needed.
