About The Position

The incumbent in this position provides grounds keeping services and routine maintenance work on the Herman Holloway Campus and for the State Service Centers in the Northern Region. This includes snow removal.

Requirements

Knowledge of operating groundskeeping or landscaping equipment such as mowers, tractors, saws, sprayers, pruners, edgers, grass shears and trimmers.

Responsibilities

Performs routine maintenance of lawn, flowers, shrubs, and trees involving planting, fertilizing, transplanting, irrigating, weeding, mulching, pruning, mowing, edging, and trimming.
Applies pesticides and herbicides safely and responsibly when needed in accordance with all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
Performs seasonal care such as planting in the spring or leaf removal in the fall.
Maintains driveways, steps, and walkways by removing snow or ice, trash and debris, and may assist in grading and repair.
Operates and maintains a variety of equipment and hand tools including mowers, tractors, saws, sprayers, blowers, edgers, grass shears, and trimmers.
Collaborates with maintenance team members on larger projects.
Assists in the preparation and cleanup for outdoor events.
May perform minor repairs on outdoor structures such as fences, gates, and walkways and assist trades personnel in painting and other minor repairs as required.
Communicates and interacts effectively with people across cultures, ranges of ability, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races.
Performs other related duties as required.
