This is an intermittent position. The State of Ohio offers a variety of quality, competitive benefits to eligible full-time and part-time employees. These include medical coverage, free dental, vision, and basic life insurance premiums after an eligibility period, paid time off (vacation, personal, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays), childbirth, adoption, and foster care leave, and education and development opportunities. Employees also have access to public retirement systems and optional deferred compensation. Benefits eligibility depends on various factors, and specific information can be obtained from the Agency Contact. New hires must verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. and complete required employment verification forms. Applicants must provide details of minimum qualifications on the application form; failure to do so will prohibit consideration. New hires agree to participate in the State of Ohio Direct Deposit of Paycheck Program. Unless otherwise required, starting salary will be the lowest rate of the range with gradual increases after probation and successful annual performance evaluations. The final applicant may be required to submit to urinalysis for illegal drug use, and a positive test result will lead to declination of employment and a one-year exclusion from consideration (not applicable to current state employees). Employment is contingent upon a criminal records check. All employees whose employment commenced on or after June 5, 2002, and are paid by warrant, must have compensation directly deposited. Ohio is a Disability Inclusion State committed to providing access, inclusion, and reasonable accommodation.
