About The Position

The Grounds Maintenance Worker assists with all aspects of grounds maintenance to provide a safe, clean, and well-maintained campus environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Demonstrates knowledge of seasonal plants, sprinkler systems, landscaping practices, and grounds maintenance equipment.
• Communicates clearly, follows troubleshooting procedures, and collaborates with maintenance team members and other departments to address needs and resolve issues.
• Manages time effectively, prioritizes multiple requests, and completes assigned work reliably.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment, methods, and procedures and remains current through training and professional development.
• Lift, move, or position objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more
• Climb to elevated surfaces or rooftops
• Drive maintenance vehicles
• Operate heavy equipment necessary to complete assigned duties

• Job-related experience within a specialized field having demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility

Responsibilities

• Operates grounds maintenance equipment to mow, trim, prune, and perform related landscaping work
• Operates a backhoe and forklift
• Cleans and maintains grounds maintenance equipment
• Maintains the lawn sprinkler system
• Assists with building maintenance and other operational needs as assigned
• Performs other duties as assigned
