About The Position

The Grounds Maintenance Worker (Groundskeeper) maintains landscaping and grounds around designated areas and buildings. The role includes routine upkeep such as mowing lawns, trimming weeds and shrubbery, raking leaves, preparing soil and maintaining bedding, planting and maintaining flowers, bushes, hedges, and shrubs, watering plants when needed, and cleaning pedestrian surfaces and walls. The worker also performs preventative maintenance on indoor and outdoor facilities and routine maintenance on power equipment. The role may involve using power and hand tools and requires landscaping or cleaning experience, with prior groundskeeping experience preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of related experience.
• Horticulture knowledge.
• Knowledge of gardening techniques.
• Knowledge of gardening products such as fertilizers and pesticides.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirements.
• Ability to operate power equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers.
• Ability to use hand tools required for landscaping.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments.
• Extensive knowledge of landscaping techniques and processes.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to successfully pass a required federal, state, or local government background investigation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
• Ability to hear and see to meet positioning and safety requirements.

Responsibilities
