About The Position

The Maintenance & Operations Department of Jefferson Community and Technical College has an immediate opening for a full-time Grounds Worker on the downtown and technical campuses. The primary duties of these positions are mowing grass, weeding, and trimming. Other duties include but are not limited to: Grounds cleanup, Planting, Mulching, Trimming, Equipment moves, Perform other duties as assigned. Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas. Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables. Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances, reports issues to appropriate entities. Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory and requests additional supplies as needed. Documents and reports repairs, violations and pest control needs. Provides grounds keeping services and maintains clean walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow and ice.

Requirements

• High School/GED
• One year related experience, or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and ability to operate lawn and weed eating equipment
• Some landscape knowledge
• Regularly involves lifting, bending, or other physical exertions – often exposed to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
