Grounds Maintenance Specialist
About The Position
Join Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living as a Grounds Worker II, maintaining the community’s exterior areas to help provide residents with a beautiful and safe environment. The role includes caring for lawns, trees, gardens, and shrubbery; maintaining exterior areas and signs; assisting residents with gardening; supporting snow removal; and helping maintain related equipment. The position also involves identifying horticultural problems and recommending treatments. Oak Crest is an 87-acre continuing care retirement community in Parkville, Maryland, managed by Erickson Senior Living. Compensation is $17.00–$19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of landscaping or grounds experience.
- Valid driver’s license if operating community vehicles.
- Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lawns, trees, gardens, and shrubbery.
- Maintain exterior areas, including trash removal, weeding, pet stations, dog runs, and fencing.
- Install and maintain exterior signs.
- Assist residents with gardening.
- Assist with snow removal throughout the community.
- Assist with maintenance of associated equipment.
- Identify horticultural problems and recommend treatments.
