About The Position

The Grounds Keeper position at Airlie Hotel & Conference Center in Warrenton, VA is a full-time role responsible for maintaining all of Airlie’s grounds under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor and Chief Engineer. This role involves operating various groundskeeping equipment and assisting with building maintenance tasks.

Requirements

Experience on commercial equipment such as zero turn mowers and other power equipment for grounds work and building cleanup.
Ability to work weekends and nights if required due to weather conditions.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Maintaining all of Airlie’s grounds.
Operating zero turn mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, blowers, and hand tools.
Assisting with moving furniture, demolition, and other building and grounds requests.
Daily cleanup of debris, trash, and limbs around the property.
Repairing grounds and reseeding as needed.
Mowing grounds on a weekly basis using commercial zero turn mowers.
Weed eating, trimming, and brush removal.
Daily cleaning of walkways and decks of debris using leaf blowers and brooms, removing grass and debris.
Leaf cleanup.
Cleaning up trees and cutting wood for fireplaces.
Cutting up trees and limbs using chainsaws, wood splitting machines, and hand mauls.
Hauling and stacking wood in storage areas and distributing it to buildings for fireplaces.
Assisting with some degree of building maintenance.
Digging trenches for burying pipe, wiring, and making repairs.
Moving furniture when needed for room and building remodels.
Assisting with guest services, including luggage service.
Snow removal from walkways and roads, sanding, and de-icing.
Setting and lighting fireplaces in meeting rooms.
