About The Position

The Grounds Keeper position at Airlie Hotel & Conference Center in Warrenton, VA is a full-time role focused on maintaining all of Airlie’s grounds. This role involves operating various groundskeeping equipment, assisting with building maintenance, and ensuring the property is clean and well-kept. The position requires the ability to work weekends and nights as needed, particularly due to weather conditions, and a valid driver's license.

Requirements

Experience operating commercial equipment such as zero turn mowers and other power equipment for grounds work and building cleanup.
Ability to work weekends and nights if required due to weather conditions.
Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Maintain all of Airlie’s grounds under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor and Chief Engineer.
Operate and maintain commercial equipment including zero turn mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, blowers, and hand tools.
Perform daily cleanup of debris, trash, and limbs around the property.
Repair grounds and reseed as needed.
Mow grounds on a weekly basis.
Perform weed eating, trimming, and brush removal.
Clean walkways and decks daily using leaf blowers and brooms.
Remove grass and debris.
Perform leaf cleanup.
Cut up trees and limbs using chainsaws, wood splitting machines, and hand mauls.
Haul and stack wood in storage areas and distribute to buildings for fireplaces.
Assist with some degree of building maintenance.
Dig trenches for burying pipe, wiring, and making repairs.
Move furniture as needed for remodeling projects.
Assist with guest services, including luggage service.
Perform snow removal from walkways and roads, including sanding and de-icing.
Set and light fireplaces in meeting rooms.
