About The Position

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Grounds Crew member for its Facilities & Grounds team. This position handles custodial and grounds maintenance to keep restrooms, walkways, seating areas, and other public spaces clean, safe, and well-maintained for guests. Duties include sanitation, cleaning, and upkeep of designated areas; monitoring and reporting safety concerns; establishing safety protocols; and assisting with additional tasks as needed. The role requires working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work on your feet for up to 8 hours a day and walk the zoo grounds for several hours at a time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in summer heat and winter cold.
• Understand the importance of a clean and safe working environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Must comply with the Toledo Zoo's drug-free workplace policy, including its marijuana prohibition.
