About The Position

LEGENDS GLOBAL is hiring a full-time Grounds Crew Lead in Stockton, California. The position assists the Head Groundskeeper with ballpark field maintenance and facility needs related to sports use, including scheduling and facilitating field preparation, training the grounds crew, maintaining and repairing equipment and irrigation systems, and managing the use of materials within allocated budgets. The role also assists with general sports-field-related facility maintenance and delivery of event-related services. The Grounds Crew Lead performs landscape and maintenance work at Stockton Ballpark and around the facility and Arena exterior sidewalks. The role leads game-day grounds activities before, during, and after games; coordinates and monitors general facility maintenance; provides technical support and repairs for facility systems and equipment; manages work orders and the LEGENDS GLOBAL Maintenance Manager systems; and helps ensure compliance with applicable ballpark and safety codes. The position reports to the Head Groundskeeper and directly supervises the Grounds Crew for field duties. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, a Sport Turf Management degree, and three years of grounds and field maintenance experience. Work includes heavy lifting, climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling, and equipment operation, both indoors and outdoors and under adverse conditions. Flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, are required. The hourly pay rate is $25.00, with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Sport Turf Management degree.
Three years of experience in grounds and field maintenance.
Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
Working knowledge of operating and maintaining irrigation systems.
Ability to calibrate and apply liquid or granular fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides using current horticultural practices.
Knowledge of maintaining Bermuda grass with a cool-season turf transition.
Knowledge of infield skin maintenance, mound builds, mound and plate patching, and other dirt work needed to maintain a safe, professional playing surface.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as a team member.
High motivation, professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.
Ability to work irregular, flexible, and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to meet physical demands including heavy lifting, climbing, carrying, stooping, crawling, and equipment operation.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in adverse conditions.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Groundskeeper in supervising employees performing landscape and maintenance duties at Stockton Ballpark.
Perform landscape duties on and around the ballpark field and facility, including Arena exterior sidewalks.
Lead grounds crew activities and tasks on game days before, during, and after games.
Schedule, coordinate, supervise, and monitor general facility maintenance.
Troubleshoot irrigation system problem areas and make repairs when malfunctions occur.
Provide technical support and assist with repairs and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
Facilitate work orders and use the LEGENDS GLOBAL Maintenance Manager systems.
Ensure compliance with MLB, MiLB, local, state, and federal ballpark codes.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and costs.
Follow CAL OSHA and other applicable safety codes.
Assist with Arena conversions when needed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervise the Grounds Crew for field duties in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
