About The Position

The Groundman is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will report to the Foreman. This role involves performing new construction, maintaining and repairing de-energized powerlines while putting safety first. You will help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware. The job requires performing rigorous physical labor and regularly lifting heavy tools and equipment. You will also maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order. The role involves working outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather. Availability for outages, storms, emergencies, including on-call rotation, is required. You will also inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocols, understanding when to wear PPE.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 60 days.
  • Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out‑of‑state assignments.
  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.
