About The Position
The Groundman T4 position is an entry-level position in the construction, maintenance, and repair of distribution facilities of all types. This is the 4th step in learning the skills of a Lineman. Will continue learning safety procedures, stocking trucks, and assisting crew members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six months experience as a Groundman with Shelton Energy or other verifiable source.
- CDL class A license preferred; must acquire CDL beginners permit within 60 days.
- Complete OSHA 10 hr Safety Training Program within 90 days.
- Ability and desire to learn the necessary skills of a Lineman.
- Ability to read and understand minimum approach distances.
- Commitment to doing quality work while putting safety first.
- Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
- Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
- Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
- Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card.
- Complete a COVID-19 risk assessment.
- The employee Is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; and fee; and reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities
- All of the Duties of an AEP Groundman (T3)
- Shall not work on any energized lines and/or equipment.
- Working on de-energized lines and/or equipment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
