About The Position

Amentum is looking for a qualified Ground Support Equipment Worker in our San Diego, California location. The Ground Support Equipment Worker makes repairs to Ground Support Equipment (GSE) following orders of a higher-grade Mechanic. Reports to Supervisor. Essential Responsibilities: Troubleshooting malfunctions of GSE using conventional items and digital multi-meters, voltmeters, ohmmeters, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, circuit card testers, transistor testers, and hand tools, prepares GSE for storage and transportation, uses automated maintenance data systems and analog documents to maintain equipment records, and document maintenance actions, maintains external fuel and grounding systems. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and other relevant hazardous materials and compressed air, disassembles and assembles malfunctioning GSE accessories and components. Removes, disassembles to repair, clean, treat for corrosion, assembles, and reinstalls GSE components and accessories to maintain functionality, stencils and marks GSE in accordance with technical publications, stores, handles, labels, uses, and disposes of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with all state, local, and federal environmental standards and regulations, operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. Maintains vehicle records, maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records, provides dispatch service for GSE, including positioning equipment to support aircraft maintenance and flying operations, and practices good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, other Program compliance standards and safety at all times. Position may require travel with minimum notice to remote locations. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Must be a High School graduate or equivalent
Must have 2 years recent experience working on Automotive/Mobile Equipment and/or appropriate training in functions such as Inspection maintenance, repair and modification of powered ground support equipment used in support of electronic systems or sub-systems
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must have a valid driver's license
Security Clearance Required
Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Clearance
The ability to obtain and maintain a Government Common Access Card (CAC)
Required to clear preliminary Government security background check prior to employment beginning
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credential/authorization
U.S. Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location
Pre-employment drug screening is required
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English

Responsibilities
