This role involves diagnosing and repairing Ground Support Equipment (GSE). The mechanic will advise and train lower-level workers, approve completed maintenance, and solve repair problems using technical documentation. Responsibilities include using automated systems to monitor maintenance, analyzing equipment needs, maintaining records, and documenting actions. The mechanic will diagnose and repair GSE using various testing equipment and hand tools. This includes maintaining external fuel and grounding systems, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspecting and testing equipment, and servicing GSE with fluids and air. The role also involves diagnosing mechanical and electronic issues, disassembling and reassembling components, repairing and reinstalling GSE parts, and stenciling/marking GSE. Proper handling, labeling, use, and disposal of hazardous materials are required. The mechanic will prepare GSE for storage and deployment, operate and service towing vehicles, maintain vehicle and equipment records, and provide dispatch services for GSE, including positioning equipment for aircraft maintenance and flying operations. Good housekeeping, tool control, Foreign Object Damage prevention, and safety practices are essential.
