Persons employed as a GSE Mechanic is expected to inspect and maintain ground support equipment used in operations. This includes troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling ground support equipment. They will also check and service equipment with fuel, water, oil, and hydraulic fluid, and diagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manuals. The role involves building and assembling machines or mechanical components, inspecting machines, engines, and transmissions, and running diagnostic tests. Repairs are conducted aiming for maximum reliability, and thorough maintenance is performed on machinery, equipment, and systems. Cleaning and lubricating machinery components, replenishing fluids and components, and providing consultation on maintenance and preventative measures are also key duties. The mechanic will keep logs of work, report on issues, and complete GSE paperwork as required.
