About The Position

The Boeing Company’s Defense, Space and Security (BDS), Space & Mission Systems MILSATCOM Program is hiring a Ground Systems Test & Integration Engineer at the Mid-Level (Level 3) or Lead (Level 4) level. The role provides leadership and technical guidance in developing satellite ground mission-planning systems, including direction for major sections of ground-system software development. The successful candidate will work in an agile environment and contribute through hands-on development and mentoring. The position is 100% onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado. As a member of the MILSATCOM Mission Planning Development Team, the engineer will collaborate with supplier and contractor software, systems engineering, and test teams, as well as customers. Work includes generating and verifying requirements, supporting the customer’s delivered system, developing the ground mission-planning system, and creating, executing, and documenting test plans, procedures, and reports for ground systems ranging from individual components to larger functional systems. The role includes analysis of system and subsystem requirements, interface design documents, ground-systems architecture and design, integration, testing, verification, and demonstrations to confirm that customer requirements are satisfied. The successful candidate will be trained in Boeing and Ground processes and procedures. The position calls for an interdisciplinary approach to planning, designing, developing, and verifying complex systems and systems-of-systems. It involves coordinating system performance requirements and interfaces, analyzing system architectures, managing requirements and technical risks, resolving cross-functional issues, and supporting integration and test of Ground Segment Operational Products. The engineer will develop and execute system integration and test plans, procedures, and reports; lead test entrance and exit reviews; and support development of complex system-level threads needed to run space missions. The team is described as collaborative and professional, with mentoring and potential for career growth into technical and management positions. The position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (a clearance active within the past 24 months qualifies), U.S. citizenship for the clearance, and compliance with U.S. export-control requirements as a U.S. Person. Domestic travel may be needed. The employer will not sponsor employment visas. The position is not contingent upon a program award and is not safety sensitive. Boeing describes its workplace as drug-free and states that post-offer applicants and employees may be subject to drug and alcohol testing when policy criteria are met.
