About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems Defense Sensors is seeking a Systems Engineering Integration and Test Integrated Product Team Lead to join a team developing a next generation Digital Aperture RADAR system. The SEIT Lead will develop and manage systems engineering, integration, and test artifacts, including Requirements Specifications, Verification Plans, Verification Results, integration and test documentation, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) content. Additionally, this Lead Systems Engineer will serve as a technical liaison with customer representatives. This position is a highly visible position to assist in delivering new capability for an innovative and revolutionary sensor system. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for leading systems engineering activities across the full program lifecycle from concept development through design, integration, test, and delivery. This individual will coordinate the activities of a broad team of engineers, drive technical excellence, and interface directly with government customers and program leadership. Lead the Integrated Product Team (IPT) execution across technical, cost, and schedule objectives in support of overall program commitments. Plan, organize, and manage work scope activities to ensure alignment with contractual requirements, program priorities, and technical baseline objectives. Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for establishing and managing budget baselines, monitoring performance, and executing within approved cost and schedule constraints. Analyze cost and schedule performance, manage risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions to maintain execution against the program baseline. This position requires a self-motivated, results-driven engineer who can identify technical choke points, provide alternative solutions, and ensure program objectives are met on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters degree with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading systems engineering teams on complex DoW programs
  • Demonstrated experience accurately estimating the engineering effort (i.e. hours) associated with Systems Engineering tasks.
  • Experience with RADAR systems design, including radar signal processing, antenna systems, or sensor integration
  • Strong understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model and DoW acquisition lifecycle
  • Experience in deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies
  • Experience with requirements management tools
  • Experience creating verification and test plans and coordinating system integration and test activities to support verification of system level requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience briefing senior government customers
  • Demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment, including leading and conducting Technical Design Reviews
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Possess a secret clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • 15+ years of progressive systems engineering experience specifically on DoW RADAR or Electronic Warfare (EW) programs
  • Experience with Digital Aperture RADAR systems.
  • Active Secret, Top Secret or Top Secret / SCI security clearance
  • Understanding of the DoW acquisition processes and methods
  • Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP)
